Frank Klaene Memorial Fund

Inspired by the passing of Past President Frank Klaene, The Frank Klaene Memorial Fund was established in 2016 for the purpose of posthumously recognizing the volunteer working members of NIBA. NIBA is a giving organization, and this is a way of giving back to the community.

An anonymous donation of $5,000 and a matching pledge by the NIBA Board of Directors serves as the founding contribution and the account is grown by gifts from friends and other members of the Association. NIBA recognizes the role that professional associations play in the development of member’s careers and lifetime work. The Memorial Fund presents a unique opportunity to recognize industry leaders and contributors who had an impact on others.

At the time of passing, a member company or colleague should notify NIBA of the death by completing the online form or emailing the Executive Director.

For NIBA Volunteer: After NIBA receives the entry, staff will connect with the family to identify a charitable organization where the memorial contribution will be made. The amount of the memorial contribution will be determined by the role the member had while engaged in NIBA volunteer work:

• Past Presidents: $2,500
• Board of Directors: $1,500
• Committee Members: $750
• Honorary Members: Incremental $500

For an Employee of a NIBA member company: The passing of employees of a member company will be recognized on an annual basis during the opening business session of the Annual Convention. In order to properly recognize each individual, a running list will be generated for viewing during the session with commemorative remarks. It’s the responsibility of the member company to notify the NIBA Executive Director of the death.
